Know Me

Melissa Frederick earned her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) from Mercer University School of Medicine and is currently working toward licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist. She completed her clinical training at The Family Therapy Center in Macon, Georgia, where she worked with individuals, children, adolescents, couples, and families across a wide range of clinical needs.

Melissa works with individuals, children, adolescents, families, and caregivers, supporting concerns such as behavioral challenges, family conflict, emotional regulation difficulties, school-related stressors, and life transitions. She brings a thoughtful, developmentally informed perspective to her work, helping clients navigate relational dynamics and change within the context of their lived environments.

Her therapeutic approach is grounded in a systemic, family-centered, and holistic framework. Melissa conceptualizes client concerns through emotional, relational, environmental, and behavioral lenses, with careful attention to family patterns and life experiences. She integrates Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), alongside strengths-based and solution-focused interventions, to foster connection, improve communication, and support emotional regulation.

Melissa takes a collaborative, structured, and relational approach in her sessions. She works closely with clients and families to build practical coping strategies, strengthen relationships, and create sustainable, meaningful change. Her style is warm, grounded, and guided by evidence-based family therapy models.

Melissa currently offers in-person sessions at our Macon office and virtual sessions through our Peachtree Corners office.
